The Pointe Church Pastoral Counseling exists to provide support, accountability, and hope to individuals by applying God's Word to their life struggles and challenges. We believe that healing and wholeness are found in discovering God's plan for your life through the study of His Word and commitment to following it.

DEPRESSION

Most people experience feelings of sadness or hopelessness at some point in their lives. However, when these feelings start to become severe it’s possible you may be experiencing depression. When people are experiencing depression they commonly lack motivation, feel hopelessness and sadness, sleep too little or too much and eat too little or too much. People also often experience feeling guilt, worthlessness, difficulty concentrating, and thoughts of harming themselves. ANXIETY

Anxiety is an emotion many people experience from time to time, but if anxiety is negatively interfering with your life, it may be time to seek help. Common signs and symptoms of anxiety include excessive worrying, restlessness, being easily fatigued, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, and trouble with falling or staying asleep. TRAUMA/ABUSE

Trauma and abuse are serious and sensitive topics. While trauma and abuse experiences affect every person differently, people who have experienced abuse or trauma may be struggling with their emotions, upsetting memories, anxiety, feeling unsafe, and being able to connect with and trust others. FAMILY THERAPY

At times, families experience conflict, communication problems, and difficult situations. Family therapy can help families examine patterns that contribute to these issues and work through and process emotions that result from these issues. Family therapy can also help you and your family work together to relate to each other in healthier and more positive ways. If your family is experiencing these issues, let us help. RICK CANTER | PASTORAL COUNSELOR

Rick has served in ministry since 1990. He has been involved in multiple church plants, including being a member of the original staff at The Pointe. He also has led the Small Group Ministry at several different local churches.

Rick and his wife Jean are very committed to helping people discover their next step of spiritual growth and encouraging them to take it. They love people and enjoy investing themselves in their lives. For the past 8 years, Rick and Jean have been leading the SHAPE group to help people discover how God has wired them for ministry.

Rick has served on several church staffs in a variety of different roles. He completed Pastoral Care training at Huntington University and has over 25 years of experience in providing Pastoral Care.
